Short Prayer To The Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, Who didst so will to take up Thy abode in the souls of the just that Thou mightest guide them into all truth, and who dost inflame them with love of God and of their neighbor, inspire me with Thy heavenly influences, that my mind may rejoice in the light of wisdom, my heart burn with the fire of charity, and my will strongly inclined to that which is well pleasing unto God.

O Lord, Holy Spirit of God, come and renew the face of the earth, the sea and all its inhabitants. Send your apostles in the power of your might; minister to every place. Fill with your Spirit those languishing in prison or even the guilty. Touch their hearts with repentance and grant them pardon. Give us tenderness that we may love those who hate us, pardon those who offend us, be patient towards all. May innocence and modesty never leave us; may our spirits be open to you always; may you find rest within us and make our lives fruitful for eternal life. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”

Dear Holy Spirit,Creator of the Universe,You inspire us to grow, to learn, and to be ourselves. Help guide us as we search for purpose in our lives. Inspire us to maintain a positive outlook and give thanks for the wonderful things you have bestowed upon us. We pray in your name. Amen.

The prayer is devoted to the Holy Spirit, and represents the statement of a believer who asks God to send the Spirit on his behalf and make his words understandable to every one who hears them. It also serves as an introduction of meaning to worshipers who are not acquainted with the Holy Spirit. The prayer refers to the Paraclete in Greek, known in English as the Comforter.

Short Prayer To The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of God, an element of His character that touches the daily lives of those who love Him. The first mention of the Spirit is in Genesis; “The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2).

Before anything was created, God existed in perfect unity with Himself: Father, Son, and Spirit, together. After the Fall, the Spirit stayed in Heaven, but it would descend on certain individuals, selected to do the Lord’s work, or who had a particularly close relationship to God. It is described by Jesus as the Helper, or the Comforter, whose presence is with the Church until He returns, and as a seal on Christians so they are marked as one of Jesus’ flock.
