Prayer To The Holy Child Jesus

Prayer to the Holy Wounds of Jesus is a prayer to the bleeding wounds of Christ. Christ shed blood for all humanity by suffering for our sins on the cross.

The Holy Wounds Prayer is one of the most treasured prayers of the Catholic Church and is a powerful prayer based on an ancient teaching. The Holy Mass gives us a great opportunity to honor the physical wounds suffered by Jesus during his passion, death and burial. By the following prayer to the sacred wounds, we acknowledge that these wounds are what truly unite us with Christ and draw us closer to God.

Our Holy Savior left quite a legacy in the world when he died. Praise God for his Passion! He left us many treasures, one of which is the Holy Wounds. Praying to these wounds is a powerful weapon against evil and a shield against Satan’s evil intentions.

Lord God, who for the salvation of the world wast pleased to be born and suffer as man: Mercifully grant that we, who celebrate with joy the mystery of thy Birth, may also rejoice in thy suffering and obtain solace for our troubles by compassionately meditating on thy Holy Wounds. Star of the new evangelization, enlighten us; constancy and strength give us in trials; tenderness unite us in fraternal charity; and love make us peaceful among those who do not know thee.

Prayer To The Holy Wounds Of Jesus

Sweet Child Mary, destined to be the Mother of God and our sovereign and loving Mother, by the prodigies of grace you lavish upon us, mercifully listen to my humble supplications. In the needs which press upon me from every side and especially in my present tribulation, I place all my trust in you.

O Holy Child, by the privileges granted to you alone and by the merits which you have acquired, be merciful to me this day. Show that the source of spiritual favours and the continuous benefits which you dispense are inexhaustible, because your power with the Heart of God is unlimited. Deign through the immense profusion of graces with which the Most High has enriched you from the first moment of your Immaculate Conception, grant me, O Celestial Child, my petition, and I shall eternally praise the goodness of your Heart.

O Child Jesus, I have recourse to You through Your Holy Mother; I implore You to assist me in this necessity, for I firmly believe that Your Divinity can assist me. I confidently hope to obtain Your holy grace. I love You with my whole heart and my whole soul. I am heartily sorry for my sins, and entreat You, O good Jesus, to give me strength to overcome them.I am firmly resolved never to offend You again and to suffer everything rather than displease You. Henceforth, I wish to serve You faithfully. For love of You, O divine Child, I will love my neighbor as myself. O Jesus, omnipotent Child, I entreat You again to come to my assistance in this necessity. [Mention it here].Grant me the grace of possessing You eternally with Mary and Joseph and of adoring You with Your Holy Angels and Saints. Amen.

In preparation for Christmas:  Hail and blessed be the hour and the moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight in Bethlehem.  Give us, O Lord, the grace to await with joy the celebration of the glorious day of our Saviour’s birth.  Clear a pathway in our hearts to make ready for your only Son, so that when he comes we may serve you in sincerity of heart.  Hear our prayers during this Novena, and grant our petitions: may we not grow faint on our journey as we wait for your healing presence. We ask this through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and  the intercession of is Blessed Mother.   Amen.

ANTIPHONE.  Emmanuel, our king and lawgiver, long awaited Saviour of the nations. In joyful expectation of your coming, we humbly entreat you: come, Lord Jesus, and save us in this present age.

Our Father.         Hail Mary.     Glory be to the Father.

Let us Pray

O God, you see your people look forward with faith to the feast of the Lord’s birth.  Grant that we may feel all the happiness Our Saviour brings and celebrate his birth with glad and solemn rites.  Take pity on our distress, O Lord, and grant us the grace that when Christ comes again we may go out to meet him bearing the harvest of good works achieved by your grace. We ask this through the same Christ Our Lord.  Amen.
