Prayer To The Black Nazarene

The Black Nazarene or “Black Jesus” as it was initially called, is a centuries old Catholic statue enshrined in the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila. It is popularly believed to be miraculous and is said to be responsible for numerous miracles since its arrival in the Philippines. The image has been canonically crowned by the Pope and is deeply revered by millions in the Philippines who visit the Basilica annually during the Traslacion.

The Feast of the Black Nazarene is the highlight of a week-long religious festival, held each year in the Philippines. The celebration commemorates the religious traditions held by Filipino Catholics during the Spanish period and is a centuries-old tradition that has been passed down through generations.

On this solemn occasion, when the Filipino people, through their commitment and faith, are honored to be part of one of the most important religious events in the world, would you please pray with us. Let us give thanks to God Almighty for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ in a very special way. Let us offer humble prayers that this Pilgrimage would nurture in every participant the great values and virtues of simplicity, piety and selflessness.

Prayer to the Black Nazarene Lord, grant me the courage and wiseness to spread your word through my craft. Let me be brave enough to speak the whole truth of your divine word. Lord, guide my hand when I reveal your message to the whole world.

Prayer To The Black Nazarene

O my loving Jesus, whose life in Nazareth was marked with humility and obedience and whose sufferings and death brought about my salvation, grant that i may overcome pride and develop love for earthly hardships. For it is only through a humble heart and joyful love of the cross that I can follow in your footsteps. It is only by carrying the daily cross that I can follow in Your footsteps.

It is only by carrying the daily cross that I can reach heaven.

Jesus Nazarene, Bless my family and me. Amen.
