Prayer To Spirit Guides

A prayer is a reverent petition or prayer made to a deity, spirit, or person. It may be directed or indirect, spoken or silent.

Spirit guides are like guardian angels, unseen helpers throughout our lives. Often the term is used to refer to the spirit of an individual who has already crossed over into the next realm and who, from this realm, assists those living beings that they had been in closeness with while they lived on Earth.

Spirit Guides are powerful beings or entities, ready to help and assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have. You can ask them for guidance, help or assistance in any endeavor- even the most difficult and challenging of situations. And Spirit Guides will often give you just what you need but not what you want. Remember this as it is a universal truth that we tend to pray for what we really don’t need!

Breathe in positivity, breathe out negativity. The more you do it, the better you’ll feel. It’s like clearing your mind of the negative thoughts that clutter it. Nobody’s perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Allowing the negative thoughts that stem from those mistakes to stay within your mind can be quite detrimental to your mental health. So, in order to live a peaceful life, I recommend using this prayer to spirit guides.

Prayer To Spirit Guides

Spirit guides are entities designed to help and advise you on this physical plane of existence. Your guides—everyone has more than one—were given to you before you were made flesh. They are non corporeal beings, assigned by the universal mind to travel alongside you while you exist on this earth. They are responsible for helping you navigate your way through life, expand your realization of your higher self, and make your journey easier. Spirit guides advise, nudge, comfort, and of course, guide. Their purpose is not to do things for you or make your decisions; they are there just to guide and inform. They are kindly entities, specifically concerned with your good—nothing more.

There are spirits of the departed, like loved ones who have passed on, engaged in helping and guiding, but they are not spirit guides. Spirit guides are different and should not to be confused with guardian angels or angels of any kind. The best explanation for spirit guides is to say they are entities, composed of energy, which do not have substance and which are often directed to aid your higher self.

Spirit guides are uniquely able to help where intuition is not. This is because spirit guides know all that has been and is now going on in your life. They are entities that may or may not work in concert with other guides on your behalf. They may appear to have male or female characteristics, but they are neither male nor female. Those characteristics are there to aid your human understanding and to give you something with which you can easily identify.

We are all spiritual beings having a material experience. LIBATIONS

Libations are an age-old practice by many indigenous peoples across the globe. It is the act of putting cool water or alcohol on the earth/ground to attract coolness into our spaces and to ourselves. Libations can be done before a ritual or conversation, whether at a protest or in your home, your office, a meeting, or other spaces that may be part of your daily life or community space or events.

THE CONCEPT OF “COOLNESS”

Water is life, we are water and our world is water. Water is of major importance to all living things; in some organisms, up to 90% of their body weight comes from water. Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. The earth is 71% water. The concept of coolness is integral to the delicate balance of our planet, the rise of 1 to 2 degrees in temperature of the world’s ocean that hold 95% of the earth’s water has been catastrophic thus far (hurricanes, tsunamis, melting ice caps). Similarly, when we get “hot headed” as individuals or loose our cool, we don’t think clearly, we allow emotional challenges to take over such as anxiety, anger, frustration, self-doubt, etc. We must maintain our own coolness to think clearly, calmly and strategically and for our own wellbeing, that of the collective, and that of mother earth.

DIRECTIONS

Use a small bowl and put half a cup of water in it. Ensure the water is room temperature or cold (do not use hot water) Dip your index finger into the water and drop a few drops of water onto the ground while chant the first phrase below “May the earth be cool”. Repeat while you chant each one of the phrases that follow.

May mother earth be cool
May our guiding spirits be cool
May our ancestors be cool
May my (our) heads be cool

You could add:

May conversations be cool
My the day be cool
May our movement be cool
May my (our) comrades be cool
May those who want to harm me be cool
May this day be cool
May……(add any other thing, situation, event, etc you want to bring coolness to)

Close out the libation with call and response 3 times.

You say: May it be so!
Group responds: Surely shall it be!
