Dear God,

We come before you today to ask for the gifts of the spirit. We ask that you give us your wisdom, your understanding, and your knowledge so that we may be able to serve those around us in an effective manner. Help us to understand what they need and how they can be helped, so that we may guide them along the path to righteousness. Grant us the gift of discernment so that we may be able to see clearly where others are going wrong and lead them back onto the right path. Give us boldness in speech so that we may speak up when needed, but never in a way that would cause harm or shame others. Bless our tongues with knowledge so that we can speak eloquently when necessary and never become tongue-tied when faced with difficult questions or situations. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

Heavenly Father,

I come to you with a humble heart, seeking your guidance. I know that all good things come from you, and I am grateful for the many blessings you have bestowed upon me. But Father, there is something more that I need.

I have always been a faithful servant to you, and now I ask that you give me… the gifts of the spirit!

Open my eyes to see your truth in all things. Help me understand the ways of your kingdom so that I may walk in them with confidence and joy. Give me the gift of wisdom so that I may teach others about your love for them and their need for salvation through Jesus Christ.

Give me gifts of faith and healing so that I can be used by God as he desires to use me in this world. Give me these gifts so that they might be used not only for myself but also for others who do not yet know Christ or his church. May they see these gifts as evidence of your power and glory in this world, even if they do not yet believe in him who sent you here on earth. May my life become a testament to your saving grace!

I pray for the gift of wisdom, that I may know the things you want me to know and do the things you want me to do.

I pray for the gift of knowledge, that I may understand your word and how it applies to my circumstances.

I pray for the gift of faith, that I may believe in you and what you have done for me, even when it feels like there is no hope.

I pray for the gift of miracles, so that others will be healed from sickness and disease.

I pray for the gift of discernment, so that I can recognize evil and avoid it in my life.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gifts you have given me.

I ask that you continue to bless me with the ability to see things from different perspectives and to be more understanding. Please also grant me the gift of wisdom so that I can make good decisions in my life and be a better person.

Thank you for your grace and mercy!
