Prayer for an epiphany I adored her from afar and up close. I took a shot under the table. She looked down, then longingly at me. Her dark eyes, her dark hair, and her little black dress—with higher heels. Then she tucked a strand of hair behind an ear and looked at me sideways.

Prayer for The Epiphany - Prayer & Possibilities

O Almighty God,

who in the mystery of your wisdom

made the world out of nothing and by your word alone

created all things visible and invisible:

Receive our prayers for this season of Epiphany, when we celebrate your Son’s manifestation to the Gentiles. Through the eyes of faith we see him as he is, a light shining in darkness; we bow before him as Lord and Savior. Grant that we may be strengthened by his presence in our lives, so that we may proclaim him as King to all nations, one body in Christ. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Dear God,

We come before you today to celebrate the birth of your son, Jesus Christ. We are grateful for the life and teachings he shared with us, and we honor the ways in which he has changed our lives.

Today, we ask for your guidance as we continue our journey toward becoming a better people. May it be your will that we live our lives with love, compassion, and understanding for all. Grant us wisdom as we move forward into this new year, so that we may use the gifts you’ve given us wisely and well.

Thank you for the gift of life today and always. Amen

Lord, we come to you today, asking for your blessing. We ask that you guide us on this journey of life and that you protect us from those who would seek to harm us.

We ask that you bless our families, and help us to remember that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

We ask that you guide us in our decision making and help us to make decisions that will bring glory to your name.

We thank you for all that we have been given, and we pray that you will continue to bless us with health, wealth, happiness and peace. Amen

O Blessed One,

You came to us in the form of a child.

You came from above,

To show us the true meaning of love.

You came to teach us that we are all equal.

One in spirit and one in purpose.

We pray for your forgiveness, for our sins against you and each other, and we ask that you lead us on a path towards peace, love and understanding.

O God, who sent forth your son Jesus to be the Saviour of the world, and who raised him from the dead: Grant that we, who have been cleansed by his precious blood, may be delivered from every snare of the enemy and enjoy eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
