Prayer for Easter Sunday 2020

Prayer for Easter Sunday 2020: As you look forward to Easter Sunday, pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to teach you all that the Father has given him. Pray for unity with all Christians and ask that they will be strengthened in their faith in Christ Jesus. Pray, also, that Christians throughout the world would .experience God’s love, mercy and grace. We are all waiting for the day when we will finally meet Jesus Christ. As an example, one of the major reasons why people gather at church is to await the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The day when He comes to take us back to our heavenly home and live in His presence forever. We ask that you would bless each member of this congregation and their families. We ask that you protect those who are in need of healing, whether they are physically ill or emotionally distressed. May they find peace during this season of renewal and hope for the future. May all those who are mourning find comfort and solace during this time of loss. We pray that their pain will ease as they become reconciled with those whom they hold dear in their hearts. Lord God Almighty, hear our prayers today and throughout this season as we celebrate your birth into human form so many years ago in Bethlehem! Through your forgiveness and love for us all, may we find peace within ourselves so that it can radiate outward from us into the world around us!

O Lord, I thank you for this day, for the blessing of life and all its joys.

I thank you for my family, who are always there for me in good times and bad, who lift me up when I need it, and who help me to feel loved when I don’t feel like loving myself.

I thank you for my friends and neighbors, who inspire me with their kindness and their joy.

I thank you for the world around us—for the beauty of nature, for the love that we can see in every face.

We remember his words when he said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

We are thankful for the gift of new life that comes from your Son. We pray today for all those who have been raised up through his resurrection. We pray that they may know that they are never alone. We pray that they may know that no matter how dark their night, there is always a morning after.

Lord God, we thank you for this Easter season, for the opportunity to celebrate life with our family and friends. The joy of this day reminds us of the joy we have in our hearts because Jesus lives! Amen

O Lord, hear my prayer.

And let my cry come unto thee.

Let my supplication come before thee: turn not away thy ear from me; make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Turn thy face from my sins: and put out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence: and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free Spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
