Prayer For Easter Day

Prayer for Easter day: Prayer for Easter Day is a prayer written by 11th century English monk Eadwine, for Christians on the occasion of Easter. The prayer is widely used across the Anglican and other churches in England. Prayer for Easter Day is a standard prayer that comes from Christian liturgy and it grows out of the exposition of scriptures in communion services of several churches, including Catholic Liturgy. O Lord Jesus Christ, You have appeared today to bring light to the world. You are the true light that enlightens every man, who comes into the world. You have appeared today, slain death and given life to the world; You have raised up Adam and Eve from the dead, have brought Lazarus back to life, and sent down Your Holy Spirit upon Your Apostles. Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross and after three days from his death he resurrected. This resurrection holds a great importance in Christian faith and many also refer to it as resurrection of Christ or Easter. The third day after his crucifixion, Jesus made it alive. This day is recorded in Christian calendar as Easter day. It is a big occasion celebrated all around the world by Christians with great enthusiasm. The Church recommends that in the solemn liturgy of the Easter Vigil, the newly baptized receive their first communion on this same night. In order to allow the baptized to renew the sign on their forehead with holy chrism, there is a procession with a candle after the homily, during which the person gives witness of his faith by making a profession of faith and renewing baptismal promises. He then anoints himself with holy chrism as a symbol of receiving “the seal of eternal life.” The deacon then explains that this signifies that those who receive confirmation are made members of Christ’s Body and are anointed with His Spirit…

Dear Jesus,

We ask that you take the time to celebrate this Easter Sunday with us. We know that you are our King, and we are your subjects. We thank you for the sacrifice that you made for us, so that we may be saved from our sins. Our lives are so busy with work and school that sometimes we forget what’s important. This day is a reminder to us all of what is truly important in life: family, friends, and faith!

Thank you for being with us during this time of celebration!

Dear God,

Today is Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate your resurrection from the dead. We are grateful for the gift of life and the promise of eternal life. We thank you for your love and mercy, which have saved us from our sins.

We pray that you would guide us on this journey toward the kingdom of heaven. Show us where we must repent, heal us of our wounds, help us to forgive others as we have been forgiven by you. Grant us strength to bear witness to your love in all that we do, so that one day we may be with you forever in heaven.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this day of Easter, we celebrate your resurrection and the promise of eternal life. We thank you for the gift of salvation and the gift of hope. We pray that we may live out the truth of your word in our daily lives, and that we may joyfully proclaim it to others as well. We pray that all people would know you as their savior and find peace in knowing they are loved by God.

We pray for those who do not know Christ as Lord and Savior to come to know him and be saved by his sacrifice on the cross. May they experience the power of your love and receive forgiveness for their sins through his blood shed on Calvary’s hillside. May all people be drawn into a relationship with their Creator, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Dear God,

We thank you for the gift of this day—the day when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. We are thankful for the pain and suffering He endured for our salvation, and for the joy that this has brought to our lives. May we always remember that we have been given a new life through His sacrifice, and may we always seek to live in a way that is worthy of His sacrifice. Amen.
