Difference Between Hillsong Worship and Hillsong United

It’s no doubt that Hillsong Worship and Members of Hillsong United are one of the most influential worship ministries in the last two decades. Because of their impact on worship music, we thought it would be good to take a look at some of their key songs and what we can learn from them.

The two groups are part of the Music Ministry of Hillsong Church called Hillsong Music. However, they have different missions. While Hillsong Worship is passionate about equipping and mobilizing believers everywhere with Christ-centered songs of God-glorifying worship for the building of the Church, UNITED’s mission is to write songs that “awaken churches and individuals to the fact that we are redeemed and called into the story of God.”

Hillsong Worship started making music in 1983 while United was formed in 1998 as part of Hillsong Church’s youth ministry. The Members of Hillsong United youth ministry worship team started writing songs and released their first album titled “Everyday” in 1999. Every year since then, the group releases an album and travels around the world for tours and conferences.
