Finding Of Jesus In The Temple

Finding Of Jesus In The Temple: There are many stories about Jesus in the Bible, but one of my favorites is the one about how he ended up at the Temple of Jerusalem at the age of 12. For the first time in a long time, Jesus is seen in this story with his family. His parents take him with them on their journey from Nazareth to Jerusalem for Passover so he can experience what it was like to be a Jewish kid growing up in ancient Israel.

When they arrive in Jerusalem, they are forced to wait their turn to enter the temple because of the crowds who have gathered around it, which is the focus of Jewish life. When they eventually enter, they find their son has vanished! When his parents believe they have given up looking for him forever, he unexpectedly emerges in front of them and exclaims, “Didn’t you know I had to be about my Father’s business?”

Finding Jesus in the Temple – What is it?

One of my favorite Bible tales is the discovery of Jesus in the temple. It demonstrates how much God loves us and how we may trust in His presence even when we are unsure of what to do next. Mary and Joseph are transporting Jesus to Jerusalem for Passover in this tale (see Luke 2:41-52). Once there, they proceed to the temple where, in accordance with the Law of Moses, they are required to offer the blood of two pigeons (or doves) for the purification of their son. When Jesus was born, they had already been doing this (Leviticus 12:8), but suddenly it looks like everything has changed!

Key Points of the Finding of Jesus in the Temple

  • Jesus was found in the temple at the age of 12.
  • His parents went to Jerusalem every year for Passover.
  • Jesus was a teacher and the disciples were amazed at his wisdom.

Purification of Jesus and Mary

Jesus and Mary were both made clean and ready for their work.

Jesus was also purified in the temple because he needed it too!

Was Jesus circumcised?

According to the Bible, Jesus had a circumcision (Luke 2:21). Jesus was born in September because Jewish tradition dictated circumcision be performed on infants as early as 8 days old. On the 14th day of Abib, which falls between April 9 and April 15, the Passover feast is observed. The first Passover would have been a few weeks prior to His birth, according to this. What does this entail for you then? Therefore, there is no need to wait until your child is six months old before having him circumcised. If you want to emulate Jesus, you can have him circumcised as soon as he is born!

Simeon and Anna were faithful to the temple.
