Catholic prayer for a sick dog

Catholic prayer for a sick dog: What do you do when your dog is sick? Do you pray?

If you’re anything like me, the first thing that comes to mind when your pet is ill is to rush them to the nearest veterinarian. I’ve always been pretty pragmatic about it—a little bit of internet research and a trip to the vet’s office will get my dog back on his feet in no time.

But what if your dog has cancer? Or needs surgery? What if he’s old and frail? What if he isn’t going to get better?

I’m not saying that prayer doesn’t work. But sometimes, it feels like there should be more than just waiting around and hoping for the best.

Catholic prayer for a sick dog

In this blog, I’m going to share a prayer I wrote for my dog, who is currently battling cancer. He’s been through a lot lately, and he’s not getting any younger. I don’t know how much longer he has with us, but we’re doing everything we can to make sure he has a happy life while he’s still here.

As a dog owner, I have learned that dogs are capable of many things. They can be loyal and loving, or they can be mischievous and stubborn. Dogs can also be sick. When my dog was sick, I prayed to God for help.

Introduction

Catholic Families on the Internet are looking for a specific prayer. This is for the sake of all animals, including birds and fish and insects, who have no voice to speak for themselves. There is a long story behind this request. A friend of mine heard he had cancer some time ago and decided that he did not want any treatment. He was basically seeking death, but it was so early in his illness that he could not get assisted suicide anywhere. The only way to die or at least end up in a coma or vegetative state was to starve himself slowly and wait for his body to quit working.
