The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. And in the future, when your children ask their fathers, ‘What do these stones mean?’ then you shall let your children know: Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry ground.” (Joshua 3:7-8)
