Job 5:13-19

13 “But now you would even cast lots for your brother.

How much more can the light of the wicked be put out?

14 The light of the wicked is extinguished, and their flame goes out.

The spark of his fire stops burning, and his lamp goes out.

15 The steps he took are crooked; his own feet lead him to the grave. (NIV)

  1. Job 5:17-19: “He destroys both the blameless and the wicked. When calamity comes, he mocks at the disaster of the innocent. The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; he covers the faces of its judges— if it is not he, who then is it?”
  2. Job 7:5-17: “Is it against you that I have sinned, you who are all-powerful? Why do you not pardon my transgression and take away my iniquity?
