Matthew 14:22-33

Jesus walked on the water to meet his disciples. They were in a boat and he was on the water. When they saw him walking on the water, they thought he was a ghost. But when he spoke to them, they recognized him. Then Peter said, “Lord if it is you, tell me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was blowing, he became afraid and started to sink down into the sea. Then Jesus reached out his hand and grabbed hold of him and pulled him up onto the shore. When they climbed back into their boat, the wind stopped blowing against them.

Matthew 14:26 – But when the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”

“And when they were entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”
