“And they shall make no molten gods for themselves.” – Deuteronomy 4:28

“And the likeness of male and female created He them.” – Genesis 1:27

In the Bible, there are many verses that talk about images. Here are some examples:

Exodus 20:4-6:

“You shall not make for yourselves a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them…For I am the Lord your God; you shall therefore sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy.”

Deuteronomy 4:15-19

“Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you. Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul…”

Exodus 20:4-6

You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and fourth generation of those who reject me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Deuteronomy 4:15-19

“So watch yourselves carefully, since you did not see any form on the day that the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves carefully. Do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to heaven and see the sun and moon and stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things [made by human hands]. For it is I who made all

God gave us eyes to see, and ears to hear.

-Proverbs 20:12

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord And to seek Him in His temple.

-Psalm 27:4

The heavens declare the glory of God; The skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; Night after night they reveal knowledge. There is no speech or language Where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, Their words to the ends of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, To govern the day and rule over it.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (ESV)

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
