Bible Scriptures On Love

When the Bible describes God it is not only a description of His power, awe and majesty but also His perfect and amazing love. The words love and loving are found over 250 times in the Bible.  If you really want to understand God’s love better, then you must focus more on the various scriptures that describe what God is like in regards to love. We also discuss bible verses about relationships and bible verses about gods love.

Love is a powerful thing. It can move mountains and change the world. It can be the source of our greatest joys, and it can also bring us to our knees in sorrow.

For Christians, love is not just a feeling—it’s a command from God. Jesus said that we are to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and that we’re supposed to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. And when asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Love God first, then love others as much as you love yourself.

But what does it mean to love someone? How do we show that kind of love? How do we show our children how to show their friends or families this kind of love? The Bible has plenty of verses about how Christians should treat people who are different than themselves—and how they should treat each other as well!

Bible Scriptures On Love

Introduction

The Bible is filled with beautiful verses about love. Here are a few of our favorites:

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” – 1 Corinthians 13:1

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

The Bible says in 1 John 4:8 that “God is love.” God’s love is unconditional and infinite. When you receive His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, you will have eternal life and live with Him forever.

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). This verse tells us many things about God’s love:

  • He loves everyone—not just people who are good or do good things
  • He loves us no matter what we’ve done
  • His love is sacrificial—he gave up his one and only son for our salvation

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3

Love and faithfulness are two of the most important things in a relationship. They’re like a necklace and a bracelet, or perhaps more appropriately, like a tattoo.

“In today’s culture, we often see tattoos as permanent marks on people’s bodies,” says Dr. John Zukowski, associate professor of psychology at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. “But for some cultures around the world, tattoos are temporary—they can be applied quickly at festivals and removed easily afterward.” This makes sense when you think about love: You might feel very strongly about someone one day but have your feelings change over time. Love is not always permanent; it’s something that comes and goes throughout life. That’s why it’s important to keep these concepts close to your heart so that they don’t leave you completely!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Love is patient: When you are impatient with someone, you don’t have time for them because of your busy schedule. You may think that person needs to hurry up and get over whatever they’re doing so you can move on with your life (and schedule). But when we’re impatient toward others, we show a lack of understanding of how God works in their lives and in our own lives as well! Lesson learned here? Patience isn’t just about waiting patiently – it’s also about being patient with people who need time to adjust to new situations or circumstances in life

“As the Father has loved me so have I loved you.” John 15:9

A great way to get a glimpse of how much Jesus loves you is to look at the cross. On the cross, he was willing to die for you and me. He was willing to take our place so we would not have to spend eternity separated from God in hell. Jesus loved us so much that he took all of our sin upon himself in order to save us from hell and make sure we would spend eternity with him instead. He did this because his love for us is unconditional—and it continues today!

For example, if someone were about to hit your child with a baseball bat, what would you do? Would you let them hit your child over and over again because they “deserve it”? Or would you step in front of them and take their blow yourself? That’s what Jesus did on the cross—he took our blows so we could live free from guilt or condemnation by taking our sins upon himself!

Jesus replied “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind.” Matthew 22:37

Jesus said you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Matthew 22:37

He also said that if you love Him then you will keep His commandments and walk in His ways. John 14:15-17

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Love is a verb.

Love is an action.

Love is a decision.

Conclusion

Love comes from God, and he has shown us what true love looks like by sending his Son to die for us. He showed us that we can’t do it on our own. And so, if we want to love others like they were loved by God, then we have to go back to him and ask him for help (1 John 4:19). We need his strength to overcome our fears and reach out in love even when it feels scary or painful.
