A Prayer For The New Year 2021

Dear God,

Help us to be mindful of the good in this world and the people who bring it forth. We ask that you help us to see the beauty in our differences. Help us to love and embrace each other despite our differences. Teach us to be open and willing to change as we grow and learn from one another.

Help us to remain humble in our understanding of your intentions for us as individuals and as a society. Help us to continue learning about your will for our lives, so that we may become better people each day.

Help us to remember that this world is not a perfect place, but through your grace we have been given the opportunity to make it what it can be: a place where all are treated with respect and dignity regardless of their race or religion; a place where no one has been left behind; a place where all are welcomed into your kingdom with open arms; a place that is full of hope, love, peace and joy!

A Prayer For The New Year 2021

Heavenly Father,

Heavenly Father,

Lord Jesus,

Lord,

God Almighty Father,

Our Father in Heaven,

Dear Lord.

We praise You for new mercies every morning and for Your faithfulness that endures forever.

  • Praise for new mercies every morning.
  • Praise for Your faithfulness that endures forever.

With these words, we will begin the year of 2021 by thanking God for His mercy and grace to us as individuals, families, and communities. As we enter into this new year, let us not forget the importance of praising God at all times—for His creation and providence in our lives; for giving us life through our mothers’ wombs; for giving us freedom from sin; for providing our daily bread (food); for healing when we are sick or injured; etcetera!

The Bible also teaches that God is faithful even when we are unfaithful. He loves us despite our failures. He forgives us when we repent and turn back to Him again each day of our lives on earth because He loves us so much!

Lord, we have been blessed with so much in our lives, but we confess that we still often put our hope in things of this world,

Put your trust in the Lord, not in earthly things.

Lord, we have been blessed with so much in our lives, but we confess that we still often put our hope in things of this world. We need You to remind us that you are all-powerful and faithful, and to teach us how to place our trust in You alone.n

We know that you will be with us through thick and thin (Psalms 23:4). Please help us remember this as we go about our days for the next year. Thank you for supporting those who are weak and needy (Psalms 82:3).

not in You.

  • Not in the things of this world.
  • Not in our own abilities.
  • Not in other people.
  • Not in our jobs, relationships or achievements.
  • Not in our families and friends who love us but are also flawed human beings like you and me (and they’re probably not perfect either).
  • And definitely not in our health or looks!

Please help us to truly put our trust in You alone.

I pray that you would help us to truly put our trust in You alone.

We know that this is what we should do, but it’s easier said than done. We’re so good at trusting ourselves and our own understanding, especially when things don’t go the way we planned or hoped for.

I’m asking that you help us to see beyond ourselves so that we can place our confidence in You instead of relying on what we think is best for ourselves or those around us. I believe this will bring about true peace and contentment in our lives as well as a new level of faithfulness and obedience to You!

Please show me where I am placing my trust other than in Your hands; give me courage to let go of my hold on these things; lead me down paths where I will learn more about Your ways with me…and others around me too!

Help (name person) to set their eyes upon You and see You as their strength and refuge in times of trouble.

God, help (name person) to set their eyes upon You and see You as their strength and refuge in times of trouble. Help them to seek Your face above all else. Give them the ability to lay hold of Your strength in a crisis and bring glory to You as they do so. Let them know that when they cry out for relief, You are there; that no matter what happens, if they call on you, you will answer!

As this new year begins,

As this new year begins, it’s hard to know what the future holds. We may experience change, both good and bad. But we can trust the Lord to help us through it all.

let (name person) do everything they can to seek Your kingdom first.

You are loved by God, and he will take care of you. Seek his kingdom first, and let him do everything he can to bring your life into alignment with his purposes for you.

Help them to seek after a right relationship with You.

You are the God of all creation and the King of kings. You created us in Your own image, but we’ve fallen away from a right relationship with You. Jesus Christ came to this earth to reconcile us back to You through His death on the cross, paying our sin debt so that we can be saved.

If you want to know how to seek after a right relationship with God and experience it for yourself, here are some things you can do:

  • Prayerfully read the Bible every day. It’s where we find out about who God is and what He wants.
  • Seek out other Christians who can pray with you and encourage your walk with Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:14).
  • Serve others through community service projects or volunteer opportunities at church (Matthew 25:34-40).
  • Worship God by singing songs that proclaim His greatness (Psalm 33:1).

We thank you that when we draw near to You,

We thank you that when we draw near to You,

You draw near to us.

We thank you that when we confess our sins,

You forgive and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

We thank you that when we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Lord,

He gives us eternal life through His death on the cross.

Your Word promises that You will draw near to us.

Your word promises that You will draw near to us.

As John the baptist exhorted, “the one who comes from above is above all…”. Your Word has power, and you can command the lord to draw near to you through prayer and meditation of His word. Drawing near to the Lord is the best way for us as humans to protect ourselves and our loved ones from harm in this world that is increasingly hostile towards the body of Christ.

Help us to seek Your face more and more as we enter into another year of life.

We can seek God’s face in prayer, through reading the Bible, worship, fellowship with other believers, and even serving others. In all of these ways we come to know God more deeply and are able to experience His grace. Join us as we pray for each other and ask God to show us how we can better seek Him in these areas as we begin a new year of life together.

May the Lord bless you and keep you this new year!

May the Lord bless you and keep you this new year!

May the Lord shine His face upon you, lift up His countenance upon you, be gracious to you, and give you peace.
