A Prayer For The Nation

When I was a young child, my father would take me on long car rides and we’d sing songs together. As I grew older, I began to notice that some of the songs he sang were different from the ones my friends sang with their dads. He didn’t know all of the words. He made some of the words up on his own.

“What’s this song about?” I asked him one day when we were in the car together.

He looked at me and said, “It’s a prayer.”

I was confused. “But it doesn’t seem like a prayer,” I said. “It just sounds like someone singing.”

“That’s because it is someone singing,” he said with a smile. “It’s God singing to us.”

Dear God, please help us. We are so lost in our own lives, and we don’t even realize it. We live in a time of unprecedented prosperity, yet we have never felt more alone. The world has never been more connected, but we feel more isolated than ever before. We are afraid of each other, and we don’t know how to communicate with one another anymore.

We have become obsessed with ourselves and our own desires, rather than thinking about what is best for others—or even just thinking about what is best for us in the long run. We need your guidance, Lord: show us the path forward through all of this darkness; guide us toward the light at the end of our tunnel.

Dear God,

We thank you for the blessing of our great nation. We ask that you continue to bless us with the wisdom and courage to lead it through tough times so that we may continue to be a beacon of freedom and justice for all people. Help us to remember that we can do great things when we stand together as a people and that when we choose fear over love, we weaken ourselves as a nation. Thank you for giving us the strength and guidance to make decisions that reflect your values and ensure our continued prosperity. Amen.

A Prayer For The Nation

How is it that we as a nation have fallen so far from the truth?

The answer is simple: we have strayed from the word of God. We have forgotten to help our fellow man, instead focusing on ourselves and our own needs. We cannot fight for what this country was founded on if we do not keep our eyes on the truth and each other. No matter who you are or where you come from, we all need to stop fighting amongst ourselves and start fighting together for what matters most—the values this country was founded upon.

Where are our national leaders?

> When you look at the events of the past year, it’s hard to believe that we are anywhere near a redemptive moment for our country. It seems like every day brings another piece of news about how our political leaders have failed us, and with each passing day things get worse and worse.

> We need to ask ourselves: Where are our national leaders? Where are those who are supposed to be leading us as we navigate this dangerous time in history? Who will stand up for what is right and not just what will get them re-elected? Are there any people in our nation who have the courage or integrity to do what is right regardless of the consequences, even if it means losing their job or being publicly shamed?

How can we vote for a leader who values himself more than our nation?

We should vote for leaders who love the country.

The President of the United States is not a king, nor an overlord, but rather a representative of you and me. This person should be someone who cares about our needs and wants, someone who looks out for us as if we were family. In the Bible, God calls us His children; so it would only make sense that we would want to elect someone who feels like family to us as well! God has said that He loves us very much (John 3:16) and we should look at our leaders in the same way. We need to find candidates that will serve their country with a servant’s heart rather than one’s own ambitions or desires.

We are called by God to serve others in love (Galatians 5:13). We need people who will put aside their own interests and desires in order to care for those around them—even when it’s difficult or inconvenient—because loving others is what makes life worth living!

Who is really stealing from the poor and giving to the rich?

The problem is that leaders are not interested in helping people. They only want to control them. They want to control your life, and they want to take away your money. As a result, they’re always going to drag you down instead of lift you up.

They don’t care about you—they only care about themselves and their power over others. And because of this selfishness, they will always fail in their attempts at helping anyone else become successful, just like they have failed themselves time and time again throughout history!

Who is really trying to keep us in bondage?

Who is really trying to keep us in bondage?

Who is trying to keep us from freedom?

Who is trying to keep us from the truth?

Who is trying to keep us from God?

Why are political parties more important to us than our faith and our freedoms?

I know that it can be hard to see the larger picture, but I hope you will consider this. All of us want freedom and security for ourselves and our families. We just tend to think that our freedom is the most important thing in the world, and so we fight each other over whose ideas will best secure it. But when we do this, we forget that many other people have their own ideas about what makes them free. These ideas may not be compatible with ours or yours; they may even seem threatening or crazy to us, because they differ from what we’re used to believing about how society works and should work.

But if all these different groups of people come together under one banner—if they share a common goal—then more people will listen to them than if they’re divided into millions of smaller groups arguing with each other over their own individual needs and desires.

Why are we silent when people need help?

When we see a problem, we often feel helpless. We can’t do everything, but we can do something. Even if it’s just helping a neighbor or friend in need; even if it’s just asking for help from someone who has more resources than you do. Your help will make a difference in another person’s life and in turn, that person will be able to help others too. We must become active participants in our own national recovery process by taking action when situations call for it (and sometimes when they don’t).

This country will only be great if we help each other.

So what can you do to make this country great? You don’t have to be a leader or politician. You can simply be a good neighbor, or help out your community in whatever way you can.

The most important thing is that we start doing it together. We need to realize that, if America is going to become great again, we’re going to need each other more than ever before.
