A Prayer For Revival

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to inspire yourself out of your current rut? Whether it’s the struggle of making more money or the struggle of having the energy for life, we all want to know that there is more. We want to know that we were made for more than what we are living in at this moment. This is why I wrote a book called A Prayer for Revival: Finding Yourself in the Wilderness. In this book, I take you on a journey through the Hebrew Bible and examine the wilderness narratives of Moses, Hagar, and the children of Israel. These stories are meant to show us that it is indeed possible to find revival, even in a time of deep disappointment. Articles on topics like “short prayer for revival”, “prayer for revival and spiritual awakening”, and “revival prayer points pdf” are also available on our blog.

A Prayer For Revival

From the Psalms of David

Lord, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide in times of trouble? The wicked surround me; I am pressed by troubles on every side. My enemies outnumber my friends; those who hate me maliciously use my name as a curse. They say to me all day long, “Where is this God of yours? Where is he?”

But here I am among them, and I am not afraid. You are with me, Lord; you take up my case. You remove the opposition to me when people come together against me; you have placed my enemies low. You rescue me from their attacks; you have kept them from being able to hurt me. God, my Lord, how great are your works! Your thoughts are very deep! Psalm 10:1-3, 13-14.

Pray for revival.

Pray for a change of heart, a change of mind, and a change of action.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to move through you, your family and friends, and the world around you.

Pray that God will move in the hearts of those who have never heard His name before. Pray that He will break down barriers and bring people together who have been separated by sin or cultural differences. Pray that He will draw all people to Himself through His Son Jesus Christ.

Pray for everyone you know who does not know Jesus Christ personally yet. Pray that they would be drawn to Him by the Holy Spirit as He reveals Himself to them in power and truth through His Word and through prayerful intercession on behalf of those who are lost in this world today.”

A Prayer For Revival

Heavenly Father, I cry out to You today

Lift up a nation.

Divinely awaken the church to its full potential.

Exhort the people of this land to turn from their wicked ways and return to You.

Renew the hearts of all who are weary from walking in sin, so that they may be renewed and refreshed in You.

May we see revival in America, revival in our churches, and most importantly, I pray for revival within my heart and family’s lives!

The people are blind to their own sin

The people are blind to their own sin. They do not feel the need to repent, nor do they know what sin is. They think they are already good enough. The truth of God’s Word says otherwise: “There is no one who does good, not even one” (Romans 3:12). If a person has never been convicted of his or her need for repentance and salvation, then that person is not really “good.” He or she is only pretending.

If we’re not aware of our own sinfulness, then we can’t understand why Jesus Christ came into this world as a baby in Bethlehem (Matthew 1:18). We won’t realize how much He loves us or how much He paid on our behalf by dying on the cross at Calvary (Romans 5:8-10). And if we don’t know these things—and believe them—then we won’t be able to experience true revival!

Our leadership is turning away from Your Word

We have a leadership that is turning away from the Word. We see moral decay, corruption and poor leadership in our government, home and church.

We need Godly leaders throughout our lives who can set an example of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

No one is praying anymore

You should pray every day. Prayer should be a daily part of our lives, but prayer has become an afterthought for many people. When we pray, we should focus on God and not just what we need from him. And when we do that, our prayers will be answered—but not always in the way that we expect or even want!

Prayer is not just talking to God; it’s listening to God as well. This means that if a person wants something so badly they can taste it, they might have to give up on their desire because it may not be God’s plan for them at this time in their life (or ever).

Our homes are breaking down

Our homes are breaking down. We have allowed the enemy to infiltrate our homes and destroy our families. Fathers are not teaching their sons how to be men, mothers are not teaching their daughters how to be women, households are being raised in godless environments, and children are being neglected and abused at an alarming rate.

We must pray for revival in the home!

Our minds are full of filth and wickedness

Our minds are full of filth and wickedness. Our hearts are impure, and we cannot hear the Lord’s voice. We must repent before He will hear us.

We need to take a hard look at ourselves in the mirror, and ask God to show us our sins. Only by admitting them can we be healed.

We have become lazy and uncaring toward others who need us.

We have become lazy and uncaring toward others who need us. We have lost our sense of community. Our neighbors are no longer a source of help and encouragement, but rather an annoyance in our lives. We put faith in ourselves alone, rather than humbly asking God for his grace so that we might serve Him with gladness and gratitude.

We have forgotten that all life comes from God; everything—our very bodies, our thoughts, our emotions—is a gift from him to be used as he wills it to be used (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). No one has ever seen God but the Son who came down from heaven (John 1:18), yet this same Jesus said “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:14). The Father has given his only begotten Son into death for us because he loves us so much (Romans 5:8); how could we not love each other?

Lord, hear our prayer today, revive us again!

Revive – To re-energize; to bring back to life.

Revival – A change for the better; a revival is what revives us.

While we have been changed by this new life in Christ, there are parts that have not been fully restored yet. We still have sin in our lives, we still struggle with temptation and doubt at times and sometimes even fall into sin again! We must live in continual dependence on Him if we want to enjoy all of His blessings!
