A Prayer For A Child With Cancer

“Lord Jesus, look with compassion upon this child of yours.

You can talk to Jesus. He is present and aware of your child’s suffering. He can heal your child, and he will listen to you when you ask for help. You can pray for strength for yourself and your family in this time of crisis, as well as for strength for all those who are caring for your child. You can also pray that he would take away the pain from his body and give him peace in this life or the next one if there is no cure here on earth.

Touch (him/her), Lord Jesus, for you are the Divine Physician, who heals every kind of illness and infirmity.

And touch (him/her), Lord Jesus, for you are the Divine Physician, who heals every kind of illness and infirmity.

For all the children who are suffering from cancer or other illnesses still in their bodies, Jesus’ touch is healing them. His love touches them and helps them feel comforted. His strength sustains them through their pain, so they can take medications and treatments without feeling sicker than they already are.

We pray to you for the restoration of this little one’s health, that he/she may know your presence in his/her life.

If you have a child with cancer or are caring for a loved one with the disease, we pray to you for the restoration of this little one’s health, that he/she may know your presence in his/her life.

We pray for healing from cancer not only for our own children and families, but also for all those who are suffering from this disease. As we pray together in faith and love, we also recognize that God’s hand is at work throughout the world today as countless others around us fight their own battles against grave illness. We ask that you would watch over them as well—for their sake and ours—and watch over us as well while we join hands with them through prayer.

We ask these things through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

We place our trust in you, Lord, for you are the source of all healing and comfort. Grant that this child and his/her family may find peace in your presence, a sense of your abiding love, strength to deal with this illness and courage to meet the challenges ahead.

  • We place our trust in you, Lord, for you are the source of all healing and comfort. Grant that this child and his/her family may find peace in your presence, a sense of your abiding love, strength to deal with this illness and courage to meet the challenges ahead.
  • We know that God has healed many children who have been afflicted with cancer. We pray that he will hear our prayer and answer it favorably according to his own good purposes.

Amen.”

Prayer is not about the words you say. It’s about the thoughts and feelings behind them.

When we pray, we often think of God as an entity that exists somewhere beyond ourselves, separate from us. But God isn’t some distant being; rather, God is part of everything around us—including you! You are part of God.

So when you pray, don’t just repeat words like a parrot mimicking sounds; instead, let your mind wander freely as if it were a butterfly dancing in a meadow under the sun—and then simply allow yourself to be present with this feeling of peace and contentment. Prayer can help guide your thoughts back to this precious moment of calmness whenever they stray into distressful territory again later on during your day or night (which will inevitably happen).
